Be surprised. Conservatives give more to charity and volunteer more for charity, as is documented in the book "Who Really Cares". It was conservatives who instituted modern civil rights. Protestantism created the modern libertarian west. We (Protestants) ended slavery; implemented religious freedom, political freedom, academic freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of the press FIRST, and thus caused the academic, scientific, technological, and material progress that followed; and most of the rest of the world hasn't caught up with it yet. John 8:32 "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” Conservatives have always had the handicap that when they gain power they use it with restraint, and the left does not. Perhaps conservatives always needed a champion who wasn't a conservative. When the Republican Congress at the beginning of Trump's first term didn't enact his agenda, he invited the Dems to the White House. I am mathematically certain if the Dems had the imagination to reach out to Trump he would have sold us out. But they didn't and tried to destroy him instead. Instead they have created the monster of their nightmares: a creature who acts by leftist rules and is determined to destroy leftism.

  2.  @AlecSorensen  I will go so far with you as to admit that conservatives have a passive "advantage" in understanding the left that they don't have in understanding us. Perhaps we all would form "bubbles" if we could and isolate ourselves from cognitive dissonance, but the difference is that leftists CAN form a "bubble" and conservatives CAN'T. We get their view crammed down our throats in school, on broadcast TV and "public" media, through a whole chorus of voices increasingly understood to be leveraged with government funds (and not just at the federal level).

You say that as though it refutes what @shawn said. Ideological language is how one does politics, not an obviation of moral principles. Agree that Musk is a self-sacrificing moral actor according to his ideals, and stands out among other multibillionaires in doing so. "to steal man Malcom" "steel"
