If we can have an opinion, then we can think it's better to develop a trust relationship with a critic to vet movies by a pattern of viewer abuse on the part of the studios, and that's just as valid an opinion as anyone else's. It's your notion: that we have a contractual obligation to pay our abusers up front in order to have an opinion, and then we can't share it because we can't corrupt other's opinions, that is oppressive and perpetuates a cycle of abuse. Every other generation has exercised the right to pick commercial successes in entertainment by their own criteria and methodology. This generation reserves the same right. Deal with it. Critics have always been a part of this process, and always will be, unless the studios manage to make it illegal. And THAT is the issue at hand.
