  1. Anita Hill lies about Clarence Thomas and now she's a professor teaching about sexual harassment in the workplace at a fairly prestigious university for a cushy salary. And she didn't even succeed in getting Thomas blocked, or convincing anybody who looked into it (basically she was discredited by the testimony). The convenient lie at the convenient time gets you a pretty sinecure.
