  1. Space Habs are neat, but you can't mine anything except on celestial bodies. Moon colony is precursor to ANY space colonies. It's where you get resources for space exploration/exploitation in a shallow gravity well and no atmosphere so you can use a mass driver to export materials and products from the Moon. Building space habs will be cheaper once we can access lunar materials to build them from.
