@lordbread2083 He couldn't have prevented the younger man from escaping, the younger man was still fighting. The old man was holding the other fellow to keep from being shoved down again.

@arunrashasegaran2442 "If a criminal to be can buy what a law abiding citizen can buy what upper hand are they gonna get?" If guns are outlawed a criminal can buy what a law abiding citizen CAN'T get. Hard narcotics are illegal to buy, but any criminal can buy them, in prosaic fact.

Not a Canadian, but I recently read that Canadian PM Trudeau said that Canadians do not have the right to defend themselves with a firearm, implying that the state would charge the victim, no suit required.
