You are comparing this with using diplomatic language in a diplomatic situation. I thought Trump could have said something better, but there is no question that in practical terms he has been more tough on the Russians than FDR, Carter, Clinton, or Obama (Kennedy is a more complicated and ambivalent case). If you want to contest this, show how his POLICIES have favored Russia more than those of these Democrats. The double standard is clearly amplified by Levin's facts and your allegations. "all of these situations had lives on the line and any misstep could have gotten many people killed." So, is our current relationship fraught with consequences for world peace and freedom or not? If it is then it is fruitful to compare how past presidents handled such pressure and how Trump does, and your objection falls flat. If it is not that important, then your crisis-mongering accusation of anti-American treason is tendentious slander. Pick your poison.

  2. He doesn't need free rent, he has a house. His business travel should be paid for. If you don't realize that his lifestyle took a turn for the worse when he moved into the White House, you don't know the first thing about the situation. Just the time he must take away from overseeing his business affairs is a big monetary loss to him.
