@AeroMetalRush He knows his options better than you do. Totalitarian states do not allow their citizens to leave. Overseas Chinese students know that their families are hostages for their return, and their behavior while abroad.

@bobbyspain5030 The Constitution provides that rights can be revoked by due process. If not, we couldn't put criminals in jail. Freedom is a civil right, too. The "principle" you just spouted is an irrational and immoral assertion with no legal or moral support. An armed citizenry supports national security and law and order. Armed ex-cons does the opposite. Mind you, this might change if the felanization of political dissent continues to expand, but too much of that and we won't be the ones choosing the laws anyway, so us arguing over what the law should be will become moot.

"Assault weapon" is not a category, it is a talking point. An "assault rifle" is a selective fire (select between full and semi auto) rifle of intermediate caliber. The AR-15 is neither of those things. A shotgun is less discriminate with buckshot, and less accurate with slugs, than a rifle. With a shotgun, you are more likely to shoot someone or something you don't intend to shoot. There are specific situations in which shotguns excel, but for general home defense, an AR-15 is safer.
