@PeterPeli "Considering our debt to them?" You are confusing an account payable with a personal obligation. This gives China no leverage. You can call in a favor. You can't "call in" a financial debt. The payment terms are spelled out in advance. If we weren't making the payments, it might be another story. Chinese equity in US native assets is a threat for Chinese hegemony. US and world companies whoring for Chinese trade is a threat for Chinese hegemony. The US's outstanding debt is a threat to our power, prosperity, and future, (because the interest sucks the blood out of our economy and diverts funds betters spent elsewhere) but that has nothing to do with who holds it.

@martyvenkman860 First, you do not get that from a careful reading of the tweet. "Why would they criticize Elon for a kinda pro russian tweet?" Whether they should have a motive for threatening Musk has nothing to do with your opinion of the meaning of the threat. Your argument is not coherent. I concede that the danger you point out is real, but that doesn't promote a nonsense argument to sense.

He, and we, should help Twitter bury Tiktok in market share in response.

"something a handler would say" No, handlers keep their identity secret. The epitome of lameness is to try to use the fact that Musk is obviously angering China TO IMPLY THAT HE IS A CHINESE AGENT. It indicates the opposite, if anything.

@jgalt308 Yes, that's the most obvious implication of the threat. Take note, anybody considering investing in China. That was Musk's biggest mistake, I hope it doesn't break him.
