Whether true or not it is irrelevant to a critique of Dr. P because Dr. P did not cite chimp behavior as a justification of any historical phenomenon, and particularly made no mention of the general brutality of European societies. He was establishing empirically that tribalism is a fundamental part of us while generally criticizing what he sees as too much of an advocacy of tribalism in ethics and politics, almost the opposite of what you seemed to get out of it.
