Your case is not a model nor typical for adults living with parents. It is not reasonable for you to take this as a personal rebuke. More generally, to acknowledge the part government policy has had on "failure to launch" is not to characterize the problem as not a problem. I realize that there are those who will denigrate you personally for your situation, shame on them. Just as they should not lump you in with others because of one circumstance in isolation, so you should not lump in the speaker with your detractors.

That's a major point of the video. Erosion of family and gender roles was a contributing factor. We need to give our children what our toxic society denied him.

@Techgunius Giving moral advice is not the same as trying to police. If you don't have the gumption to try to preserve society while it exists, you won't have the gumption for the much harder task of rebuilding it after it falls. Trying to awaken the moral sense of those who mock unselfishness is a waste of time. What is morality but unselfishness? Morality begins where self interest leaves off. Calling gentlemen feminists is just slander. Feminism depends on chivalry, it is true, and if ever as they are trying to do they kill chivalry (as they have done in you, which makes YOU their conquest, not us), then feminism will die as well. But chivalry is not feminism any more than a host is its parasite. And a physician who kills a patient to kill his tapeworm is a quack. Chivalry is mental hygiene. I have some sympathy for those who have been led to MGTOW by crushing personal experiences with evil women. They were once men, and have been broken. But those who embrace it themselves unassailed are beneath contempt. They seek and find an excuse to behave the way they always wanted to behave in the first place. Such creatures never were men to begin with. The meme known as "Men Going Their Own Way" is misnamed. It implies making a personal choice and respecting the different choices of others. Instead, you attack folk for choosing another way, because the chivalrous alternative SHOWS YOU UP. "Mgtow; go fall on your own sword." We are defending life, you are surrendering to death.

He claims that there is no such thing as right and wrong, then, without pausing for breath TRIES TO MAKE A MORAL ARGUMENT, as though he didn't understand (or perhaps didn't believe) what he'd just said! We never denied the existence of moral or propositional truth, so making arguments isn't inconsistent for US.

You cannot reduce a word by deeds, only things can be reduced by deeds. There was nothing dismissive about the treatment of evil in the video. Evil is an attribute of man that can only be fully eradicated by eradicating man. The notion that man can be perfected is naivete. Far from resigning herself to evil, she pointed out the clear solution to this sort of thing is teaching men to be men, and all to be moral. We're the ones who are doing something about evil, one person at a time. Lead, follow, or get out of the way!

Why should she be ashamed of promoting healthy masculinity, or praising unselfish courage? These are not INHERENTLY political topics. They have only become artificially political by a political agenda that undermines them. Moral retrenchment is in the public interest. Such incidents were not common 3 decades ago when the moral decline and social obfuscation were not as rampant. (And guns were more commonly present)

Empower government to favor an identity group or groups. You just disagree on who the favored groups should be. Properly speaking, you are not enemies, just rivals. Conservatives oppose both of you, because we uphold freedom.

I don't understand what you are getting at. The point is that gun control is not the answer, because making something illegal does not keep it from criminals. How is opposition to gun control not conservative?

Your accusation does not follow from the quote. A retrenchment of character is the most effective way to prevent these shootings in the future, just as a decadence of character is a fundamental cause of them. Transforming to a police state is a solution worse than the problem.

An increase of government involvement is historically the path to a police state. One never arises in a country with an armed populace. You still haven't shown the connection between an emphasis on moral retrenchment and apathy for effective preventative measures. One can talk about A without opposing an unrelated B, particularly when B has been talked to death. The central charge of your original post is unsupported, and unsupportable.

Helping our fellow Americans with our own time and money is CHARITY. Mostly conservatives do this, as has been well documented. Setting up a bureaucracy to take money from some against their will, using the bulk to make a cushy job for their power bloc, and buying votes with the remainder is socialism. Charity is more efficient and effective in actually helping our fellow Americans, not the least because in charity, unlike socialism, that is the point of the exercise. Socialism is about power.
