One does well to be aware of framing, but even awareness does not enable us to look around the picture frame to a context excluded. There must be multiple sources or "cameras" from different viewpoints to get around this.

He made that point. It is impossible for conservatives not to know the arguments of the left. We are immersed in them from TV, news outlets, editorials, movies, taxpayer funded PSAs and public broadcasting, and educational institutions. Leftists don't know ours, and haven't been trained in critical thinking, so they seek to "make it stop" to fend off cognitive dissonance.

@BexnRN That is what Carlin said: Abe Lincoln: How many legs does a pig have if you call a tail a leg? Steven Douglas: I suppose 5. Abe Lincoln: No, 4! Because calling a tail a leg doesn't make it one. Freedom of speech is not because all opinions are equal. It is because nobody can be entrusted with the power to censor.

@carlojacques1225 Who said oppression has to be complicated? It is not complicated, it's just wrong. Trying to resolve questions of fact by the use of force is obscurantism, every time.

@carlojacques1225 Psychology and Sociology claim to be prescriptive, like physical medicine. The objective evaluation of such claims is done by seeing what proportion of cases the discipline "cures". By that reasonable standard, sociology and psychiatry are about at the same level physical medicine was when the best physicians available bled George Washington to death with leeches. In other words, there is some knowledge in these fields but nothing that has the standing to be upheld against harder sciences or more dependable methods of discernment, and all is to be taken with a grain of salt. Seek knowledge, but never delude yourself about your own ignorance. On that principle, both pillars of Western culture and scholarship, Jerusalem and Athens, agree.
