I am a undergrad Computer Eng. that started working a couple year ago in a edtech start-up very much because of his videos, I became in love again with Math and realized that education is something I am motivated enough to work towards its betterment. Since then we are engaging with 40k students in 300 schools in both the public and private sector all over my country (Brasil) I'd love to meet him and thank him someday

Poetry encapsulates a lot of hidden complexities! The computation tower of a well crafted poem of even haiku can be huge! They as a rule can embed a lot of information about humanity in little text-form, and sometimes some very complex (fundamentally computable, but so extremelly complex is hard to think as, like emotions of love and hate, all encoded inside and transmitted by that few sentences)

Starting to learn human laguage through poetry is GREAT! (for humans and LLMs alike) It is fundamentally human. This approach of Wolfram's of 'first trying to formalize the first meaning of each thing' is not the way to go, by trying straight on to "get" poetry, you "get" humanity. That's what poetry is! We don't want the model to understand the language, but the the human behind trying to comunicate through it!

34:56 I think he meant more like if the moved pawn (or anything else) and it attacked the rook (like same example but rook on b8) Discovering a check and the oponent can't protect the other attacked piece, as it has to defend/move the king

10:45 this shows John Mearsheimer (and many americans..) psyche, not rules of humans interactions.
