Fuck this guy, "going to the military" shouldnt be the number one concern, I agree with him on the point of public health, we as a population is getting less and less fit, but the way he is saying implies that the issue is with the people that arent healthy not "trying hard enough" or "toughning up" to get in the military like they did in the past. The world has changed, consumerism culture and the sheer amount of information from social medias influence everyone, including you, to act differently. If the consequence of that is public health is declining we should urgently rethink this system and try to mitigate the damages. And trying to influence people that are already fucked up to enter the military, which is asking for deindividualization and future mental issues. We, as a society, are fucked so either we change that or ride the way down with it. And imo the way the military works, specially in the USA, is a significant part of the issue
