@michaellynch1132 Why would Russia attack EU or NATO if it won't pose any threat to Russia? With normal relationships you don't need "protection from outside enemy".

@michaellynch1132 Ukraine joining NATO is unacceptable for Russia. And as long as the West continue to drag Ukraine into their alliance, ignoring Russia's concerns, the war will continue. Putin said multiple times since 2000s that Russia wants unified strategic security deal with Europe, US and NATO, so that NATO would not make any steps to threat Russia's security in the region. NATO did anything in the opposite. The war started when NATO rejected Russia's proposed strategic security deal in the end of 2021.
