  1. This video would be the best video for an education on a coal economy and community Americans can get it. What choice did they have? The necessities were all in the hands of the company. Love and family worked against a miner. Mine work as the only way to feed their family. Now you know why a miner’s widow had to remarry in a week or her shit was thrown out on the curb. Company cannot exploit unmarried coal miners. The coal company town pushed marriage and family as a way to break any resistance to forced labor and captivity. Nobody without a family would make the sacrifices or tolerate the exploitation and for migrants it was better than being killed as a prisoner of war. Appalachia Coal Country was an escape of tearful regrets. Turn your attention to the Border States and immigration and very little has changed.
