@robertduluth8994 If you notice only I related the subject matter of this film to the present historical situation of our time with respect to coup dé états while most, in the comments have nothing to relate it to only comment on how good the documentary is. This subject is not a dead subject from the past Americans thinks it is or how the past is presented to Americans. This is very much what goes on in all governments including and even more so, in our own government. The part about the Soviets (workers councils) and the part about centralizing power in the new communist state are manipulated to emphasize the concentration of power and de-emphasis that socialism looked like from the point of view of the peasants and workers. As long as we keep feeding the systems that spend all of a nation’s resources in competition with socialism are doing more harm to everyday Americans facing mass evacuations, propertyless-ness, high mortality rates, repressive criminal police conduct, etc., the more dictatorial does America become as leader of this anti-communism.

You’d never know from this history the thousands of sub-feudatories to the feudal lords were more powerful than the next feudal lord was determined by the number of peasant proprietors on the lands the lords owned. We’d get a more balanced picture of the social world Henry VIII ruled over as king and less about people who saw themselves as subjects because Henry was king. This was also a time of urban prosperity. Henry VIII lived in a historic turning point. The turning point was the end of the feudal system and this made possible privatization and gentrification of property by separating the serf and peasant from the land. Not the main subject of the artists of the period of the English Renaissance in Art in the Court of Henry VIII. But he did legislate wisely on holding back the number of acres a peasant can have shelter and all. It would be a Queen who has to deal with the pauperism. Its easy to be liberal at the expense of the Middle Ages.

Little more than an impact and more like an imprint given how coup dé état has been the tool most popular with insurrectionists in the 20th and more so in the 21st Centuries...recent one I can think is the attempted one in Brazil this week and Jan 6th 2 years ago and ...you know what...the side of the insurrection or coup whether it is communist or fascist the Lenin imprint is more or less the same. The Right took it from a Russian revolutionary Bolton admitted the number of overthrows he planned and enacted as a CIA operative. He goes around the world and discredits a political person not liked or does not play ball with US foreign policy aims, then he plants incriminating evidence to remove that leadership from power, preferably jailed, the way Lula was imprisoned when Boldonaro ran for president. In a general election the right would never win. With the media generating confusion you step in as if you are in command and begin eliminating the opposition as Zalenski in Ukraine did with his opposition parties, religious and media outlets critical to his rule. Been going on for a long time.
