  4. I am not sure this should even be considered a threat. China is still very much a country that only came out in the world a lifetime and a half ago, which is not a very long time, it is still a young modern nation, with a long history of isolation. We should keep national phobias in check.

  5. There is an economic transition going on that is totally ignored. The migrants and homeless people become the problem and the target of contempt by the Public and politicians is shameless. The council and the people of Chicago are ignoring how land and development real estate projects are being built in big numbers and could easily house the migrants and homeless and then some but they are not being built for sale, they are for rent. Developers are large scale landowners and landlords, they now build and continue to own rather than build to sell, or build to suit to whoever wants to be a landlord. Your friendly neighborhood retailer like WaWa or Stewarts or Quick Check still buy what developers build but there are corporations getting in the game of buying land and developments and this group are becoming large scale landlords. Properties that go for rent is the change happening and this change has a side effect of throwing people out on the street creating a homeless population. The other change going on caused by the inflow of migrants are replacing American women of the workforce, women replaced men in the workforce 40 years ago, during the period wages were held constant. Women become the new class of managers, overseeing the new workforce of illegal migrants. This is a change that depresses and lowers wages since migrants are labor with no rights or protections. Their numbers is their only power as we witnessed the Las Vegas hospitality industry workers who walked out for higher wages around the time Autoworkers went on strike. The Las Vegas worker’s strike dropped out of the news suddenly. This is because their numbers won a higher wage. That is a message employers do not want broadcasted to America that other workers would get the same idea. Shameful how Chicago is boasting a proud ignorance at this problem without realizing that when the process is complete the American dream of owning a home has become a nightmare of anonymous corporations robbing that dream right out from under them.

  6. I cannot understand how the inflow of migrant families are not seen by the American public as a supply of cheap labor for large scale employers in various sectors of he economy. Meatpacking, assembly, agriculture, entertainment and hospitality...just go to any of the big retailers (Walmart) and look who are working there. Large employers competing with each other to lower their individual costs depend on hiring labor at a lower price. This is why wages have not risen in 50 years.

Article in Scientific American appeared featuring the Bat Lady’s work on Bats and was deleted at the time the question into the virus’s origins 2 years ago. Meanwhile in Queensland Australia, Bats were swamping the town with feces to the extent people had to sweep the crap to ope their doors it was that bad. Park’s were closed. A real mess and fears stoked by infectious bat disease. The virologist in China goes by the nickname ‘The Bat Lady”. Fauci’s association with the Bat Lady is in the way of funding the Wuhan Bat Lady in her Wuhan Lab of money acquired through the US military, and this is when and where the virus goes public. Fauci was not the amenable virologist he appeared to be and the public adored. The fake news part about this is concealing the true story from the Public of the virus’s origins. Why the Energy Department weighs in I think has to do with the general disorganization and incompetence of the American government. But it is definitely a subject for a good reporter to learn why other agencies are acting like the lead government institutions. As when the FED treasurer Yelle went to Ukraine to deliver a billion bucks to them. As the administrative branch of government is made weak other agencies of the government come forward. Could be the beginning of the end of the presidency as the top office of the nation.

Good way to naturalize illegals which are many and not all are Latin Americans from South and Central America that are illegal but countless numbers of Europeans, are illegally working in the US. Low fertility rates show the next 20 years there will be less American workers in the labor market and more elderly. Third, the SENATE in Washington D.C. hold laws that work for corporations not the country. There are a bunch of societal reasons that makes this measure a reality. The real story here is not changing the existing institutions to fit the times.

  16. A lake community that has more than one town around the lake is a dream for a boat dealer. If one town rejects the dealership planned for an open spot to build on its lake shores the boat dealer just goes to the next town that will accept a shore built lake side dealership. Still the lake itself will contain more boats and probably boats too big for the lake and the whole lake suffers along with the all the towns around the lake a deterioration in the quality of life. This is how America runs itself. If you cannot do it here you can do it there but we are all still in the same country and will suffer the deterioration in the quality of life. And the media sees its role in this whole process as promoting the boat dealer until the damage is done to the lake and communities is when the reporting points the finger at the boat dealer pleasing a lynch party summoning up a prosecutor. A sick and demented social system that any reasonable businessperson with long term goals cannot afford to embark.

The exploitation the American working class experiences is not by the force of gun or lash, its the force of the absence of material wealth and over work. I count this as part of the increasing misery, poverty of knowledge in the profession, and the deprivation the American Health Establishment dishes out to the General Public in the name of medical science. For this Establishment comprised of, Big Pharma, Hospital Management Corporations, Health Insurance Corporations and Doctors, all make health a thing that has to be bought, this means disease must always be present in society, never a disease free society creates the market demand for the commodity they sell, and by 99% of all deaths are due to this Establishment, the burden of disease is socially divided where the rich live in abstention of disease and the poor die from it, has hit one of their own. Get my point?

Let’s assume Dolton has had a corrupt police department for decades and town contracts were given to a certain group of businesses had been going on for a long time and then I come along, get elected, and start re-directing the contracts to a new group of businesses and get a cop fired upsetting the apple cart. If I did not expect the old gang to not come after me I would be nieve. If they succeed and remove me from office by whatever means, nail my allies, they come back resuming the same patterns of exploitation of past decades in Dolton. What has really changed? The residents of Dolton are taken for dolts by a small town social clique.

  24. I doubt a privileged social class of police are going to get much empathy for their cause in the context of a city suffering from all kinds of exploitation and discrimination not to mention poverty, homelessness and unemployment in a pandemic.
