Yes, how quickly the Dollar is falling. Our economy will become an export economy because the market is not in the US. American factories will have to produce in treble time for capital to make its profits after export costs. And the factories, offices, warehouse and distribution, the ports, in full operation with a smaller workforce. Its going to lead to class wars between bosses and employees. Market value of the wages paid to workers won’t buy a hell of a lot. What wages buy will shrink in amount while profits go up for people who never work at all making the things society really needs to live as workers work. Whenever value falls less labor-time is spent on production. A job market that offers stagnant wages, pensions and salaries. Elon Musk will take off 4 hours to make a Tesla to bring the market price down for its sale in a market where it can fetch a higher price. Tesla workers working less hours per car will get paid less hours per car while each car brings in record profits sold in China where incomes are higher. Many sectors of the US economy will come to a standstill, small and midsize corporations and companies overloaded with private debt will go out of business and employer owners will attempt to unload private debt by paying out less in wages for the ones that survive. Not a pretty picture. America’s working class will have to reconstruct the New Deal when the Dollar takes its last gasp for air.

I have not heard the panelist discuss the nature of capitalism in the 21st Century. Guiliano touches upon it. I like Guliano’s perspective about countries solving their problems locally. This is a groundwork for a new social organization of society. Competition is one of many of the expected social relations of capitalism; people are socialized to compete because the social institutions are based on coercive laws of competition...behavior is determined by the social organization is a general rule of thumb in social science. Social science also accounts for anarchy, chance and causality, chaos as a form of social organization suitable for the growth of capitalist relations.

China has 120 million factory workers and with the development of robot factories and robots making robots supplanting human labor in factory work, China’s working class is positioned through universal free education to cease being a working class. China could be the first society where the average intelligence level of all its 1.2 billion citizens exceeds the rest of the world, in medicine and science, math and engineering and living a life of other pursuits or more leisure being freed from the toil of work of 8 to 10 hours a day. If the same happened in the US only 12 million people would be feed from factory work out of 332 million people, twelve million former factory workers would have to find employment since other pursuits and education in America are privatized fields of activity. Need a loan to get schooled. And twelve million is not enough to make a dent for a transformation of society, 30 million would be enough, but with the side effects of AI robotics and technology, science and automation, in the labor-process supplanting more workers in other fields are going to hit a wall, finding monetary gain in other pursuits such as theft, corruption, crime, illegal trade and trafficking...or in revolution, all because education is privatized pushes workers out of other pursuits and occupations that would improve their condition in society. The seeds of revolution are already planted in the ground my friends.

The protective tariffs the US imposes on foreign imports will only divert the American consumer to buy American. The tariffs put the price to pay for an electric car from China higher than an American car which is already high. The American consumer will buy a car that is not as good as the Chinese car at a higher price thanks to the protective tariffs. The tariffs imposed do not deter other nations buying direct from China.

Yes, tariffs are a tax and they add to the price of a commodity but I think in the exchange relation China is the seller and the US is the buyer. Currently, commodities China has produced are parked out in the ocean prevented from being sold in the US market and their values not realized in money, consequently profits are not resulting for China, no factory orders...question becomes can socialism in China re-allocate this segment of its labor force so that they are not chronically unemployed by this trade war. For the US, products used for its own production and consumption are more expensive and are not bought. On the one hand values are not realized in money for China and on the other use-values are not productively consumed by the US. The dollar is backed by commodities. No commodities; no dollar. The normal workings of exchange is obstructed by a trade war. The buyer (US) is stuck in the same position (recession) and cannot move into the second position as a seller (prosperity) for lack of its own factories to replace the shortages, due to the absence of any real productive consumption of commodities it stopped ordering from China’s factories.

The actions of governments does fly against the theory of historical materialism because the actions of governments spring from ideas not from reality the initial premise of historical materialism. For example; the Political Elite in Washington (Neocons) and the ethnic hatred of Russia and racial attitudes toward China spring from ideas as there is no basis in reality that grounds Russians and Chinese people as inferior to a White Anglo Saxon Protestant Capitalist. We have to cut through the Bootstrap theory of Capitalism too. All American billionaires are not self-made is the reality. Racist ideas and rugged individualism have no connection to the real material needs of the society they come from and will have no effect in raising the standard of living of people in society but are the ideas of the Ruling Social Classes who impose the greater burden on society of the cost of supporting their lifestyle. There isn’t a Left in America because the Left has no Political Economy and the Labor Theory of Value has no audience in America.

Factories in China are still commodities, the difference is that factories are not bought and sold based on their profitability, but they are ‘conditions of labor’, people cannot work without factories making the products that help to make other products ...and help to make services; still these industries are maintained in the form of private capital and state owned capital. What gets me is how the communist party coordinates the whole social reproduction process of China for 1.2 billion people is remarkable from a socialist perspective.

You can eliminate historical analogy and comparison when one or more of the actors in the history being made is not active in the present. Until then the past is dragged into the present and useful to defeat an enemy. The Neocons in Washington personify this past. The international arena of 1955 was premised on the Cold War, a history when every social revolution was with the hostility of US ruling classes. The ruling elites positioned themselves as a powerful citadel of reaction as a matter of policy, or no policy at all to maintain that posture in that history has not changed that position in Ukraine. For US ruling elites there was no region too corrupt, too criminally negligent to the interest of the people, no dictatorship too retrogressive and cruel to be denied economic, military and moral support of the leading power of the ‘free world’,---as long as it proves its allegiance to the ‘anti-socialist alliance’. With every dollar the US elites spend on defense reflected a slow down in the rates of economic growth of the socialist economies blocking a rapid increase in the living standards of its people. This is the threat of imperialism imposed on socialist economies that has weakened imperialism to become more defensive and more hostile with the growth of socialist economies and specifically the development of China. A burden on the American taxpayer’s gets heavier as imperialism becomes more hostile. Socialist economies have surpassed the capitalist nations of the west, owing to the events leading up to the end of the Cold War, the ideological and political contest against socialism has failed. Fortunately, there has not been evidence the US would normally use against socialism as propaganda to show the American working class how poor the people in China are. Blaming the Victim. Nearly, 800 million in that country were lifted out of poverty...neutralized any propaganda in the style against Cuba...any attention to China’ successes has the reverse effect, endangering the national security of the US...the US stands guilty for the abysmal condition of its own working class. The Chinese Balloon proves the US is a lapdog of capitalist competition. US fears competition from Europe and China. Europe gets cheap gas from Russia gives European states and corporations the edge over the US. American corporations are cut out of that market. China expands into the world economy and American corporations lose out on the world market. The business environment is not particularly favorable for the US.

If the assassin is not a trained assassin but by some fluke was there at the right time the country of origin of the assassin and its own generals will be spared a death sentence. Otherwise, I think, this war will be moved, in part, behind enemy lines, carpet bombing innocents, even low intensity nuclear warfare, can be part of this escalation, for the threats to Russia aim to cut off the head of the snake, ramps up the tension.
