  1. Too bad the Spanish Europeans were not at the level of technology and geology the Mexica were and took the cheapest way out to solve the problem. If only the Venice of North America were taken by the Italians or the Dutch than the Spanish what Mexico City would look today.

  2.  @showmeyamoves6427  The Spanish were not as advanced as the Aztecs. The Italians perhaps. The Spanish built buildings Spain which were largely the result of the Moors, but not waterworks to any large scale which involves engineering, mathematics, surveying topography. They never taught you this in history did they?

  3. Too bad modern industry and particularly the oil industry in the US does not use its high level of technology to solve the problem but made the problem worse. Between the Spanish and the Americans, it is remarkable Mexico City rose to the height of an industrial city.
