  3. Bernie is shedding half truths...the GOP does want to cut social spending but they also want to cut the military budget in half, this according to their top republican Donald Trump. I would imagine Bernie would be on board with a peace dividend into which medicare can be expanded to cover everyone from this cut. Currently the military budget is largest expense American taxpayers bear. He places himself politically in a difficult position of having to reconcile irreconcilables to which end does he stand is not clear.

Doubtless to me the commentary by Cohen understands that aspect of the rebellious nature of the middle class. The ones who stormed the US Capitol. Eveything you do must be done for the continuation of the business. The choice is death by a virus or by economic strangulation. Noem would rather see people die than businesses die. But this choice is shown through in the willingness of a social class to overthrow the government, desperation, and that nobody appears wlling to talk about this desperation in middle class America, leading straight to a decline. What would be the decline for them. Decline will look like what it looks for the working class, $7.50 an hour. NY and California governors are governors with very large industries and corporations in them crushing small business decimated by order of their governors in followng the science. Is it any wonder that the career of Cuomo would be under attack? How many middle class businesses across the state were decimated for following his order of the science. I bet he did not expect Trump to not come through with PPEs and vents when he decided to follow the science. Warning signs were there and Cuomo did not pay attention to the details. Capt. Crozier of the USS Theodore Roosevelt blew the whistle the virus was real and got fired. In retrospect, capitalism in the liberal states weaponizes science against the economic livlihood of rural and republican states. Farmers out there supported Trump's tax war wth China suffered and made sacrifices to Trump where he did not deliver. That'a fault of their own. But the regular standard issue of the democratic party has not done anythng for them in decades, so why not support Trump? I think with Biden we are back to square one and so it appears to farmers liberals ignore this sacrifice imposing a shut down that you are supposed to survive through on your own. Nobody can get their hair and nails done and the only ones who can work are people who whose subect of work is an object like a plumber, carpenter, or a hamburger is not found to spread a deadly virus, these people can work. But they cannot work from home when they earn a living from a brick and morter retail business. If there isn't a vaccine in development soon the depression already ravaging lives will completely sink the middle class.

It is a polarized society with a labor-market of hazardous jobs on this side of the fence that gets worse for millions and millions of people and a money market on the other side that only a few very rich players can play, I’d say a class polarization, we need to be honest about if we are to deal with the defects in American society.

What was true in the 19th century is true for the 21st...the period of Reconstruction after the Civil War is important to study as a revolutionary period that was not,---many of the present day issues are Reconstruction issues. Reconstruction meant reconstructing the south in a capitalist form, or giving capitalism a brand of the feudal south that are exaggerated in commercial stereotypes we know today. Reconstruction is loaded with labor actions that led right up to one of the biggest unions in the country, one big union, but it was the coal miner’s strikes that reduced from 10 to 8 hours the working day,---this before the start of the first world war. Don’t forget women were calling for the vote and there were some heavy weights that bowled over the patriarchy. The problem of homegrown terrorism and the problems of syndicalism, corruption, trafficking of slaves, who had rights when the law now recognized all people to be free and equal, who can own guns, property, speak freely and who can’t, did birthright citizenship under the definition of citizenship in the constitution apply to freed slaves born in the US after all America by then had 230 years of slavery under its belt before the Civil War broke out...all Reconstruction issues... the Trump administration, has in common with the period.

  8. Republicans are a party of private interests, there is no possible way they can win in a general election representing a private interest. They must resort to other more creative ways that appeal to a broad group of people and this is becoming harder and harder by the day for them to do.
