@Mis73rRand0m , It’s bad luck. The most powerful countries could have been anywhere. They ended up where they are purely due to luck. The winners then obviously exploited the losers. Then when you’re on the bottom, it’s difficult to crawl back to the top. The same thing happens with the rich and poor individuals within each country. The rich make the rules so that the poor won’t threaten their wealth.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say. The FCC has done a great job serving the people. Look at all the great technologies that we have today that we didn’t have before the FCC existed.

@bill8985 , You’re not wrong.

“I did a video about it a long time ago that nobody watched.” Hahahahahahaha!!!! ROTFLMAO!!!

@Rubicola174 , It’s a matter pf national security. Look at Russia right now. Their inability to manufacture their own components means they have to rely on smuggling to overcome sanctions, and smuggling has a limited capacity. It’s going to cause then to lose the war that they started. Imagine if the world actually wants to invade Russia right now. Imagine if China or India wants to invade Russia. Russia would get slaughtered.

@juno1597 , Intel and the others are barely behind TSMC though, while the Russian semiconductor companies are lightyears behind. Also TSMC is building fabs in the United States. So if China were to invade Taiwan, Taiwan would destroy their TSMC fabs, and it would only set the world back by 2 or 3 years, while the sanctions against Russia has set them back 20 to 30 years.

@leftleg4024 , Taiwan is the real China. The mainland was taken over by revolutionaries. Maybe Taiwan will invade and take back the mainland that is rightfully theirs.
1
@Celis.C , Nope. It would not be a disaster for the world if China were to invade Taiwan. It would only set us back 2-3 years, and Samsung, Intel, Global Foundries, and many other companies would become the dominant players. It wouldn’t be the huge problem that you apparently believe it would be. After another 2-3 years, we’ll be right back where we are today. Not a big deal.

@2KSnSLifestyle , Chinese chip companies won’t sell to Russia. They don’t want to risk sanctions. Sanctions would shut down that company’s chip manufacturing capacity and eliminate all their western customers which is significantly more valuable than Russia as a customer. China doesn’t give a crap about Russia, or Ukraine, but they do give a crap about profits. Selling to the west is significantly more profitable than selling to Russia. So much so that Russia is insignificant.

@oldones59 , Fabs use ultra purified water for rinsing the chips during the manufacturing process.

@john_in_phoenix , Taiwan has earthquakes, and the best fabs on the planet. They know how to deal with earthquakes.

@hateercenor , Then why is upstate New York so crowded?

@bill8985 , We are already not having enough children to maintain our population. Some people are getting scared that when they become old, there won’t be enough young people working to pay the Social Security and Medicare taxes to support them in their old age. That’s the whole reason why they keep talking about Social Security running out of money. The solution is simple though. They’ll just let in a bunch of immigrants to work the jobs and pay the taxes. The politicians won’t talk about that though, because a bunch of racist won’t vote for them.

@bill8985 , The declining population problem in the United States is easily solved with immigration. But politicians don’t want to suggest this because it would lose them votes. They also won’t “solve” “the immigration problem” because the billionaires want immigration because they need more cheap labor. There’s a reason why immigration tracks unemployment. Whenever unemployment is low, immigration increases because low unemployment means that the billionaires need more workers.
