Special guns that do not fit real bullets is very simple and would make such accidents impossible. They could do something as simple as making the internals an odd size so the bullets won’t fit.

  40.  @Stop_Gooning , There’s absolutely no reason why a prop gun could be manufactured to look exactly like a real gun. They could be identical in every way except on the inside where it contacts the bullet such that a real bullet won’t fit. They can then manufacture specially sized blanks that fit the prop guns. It’s just a matter of manufacturing them. They probably only have to manufacture one special part of the gun. The rest could probably use the same parts as real guns.
