  1. NY was never going to pay Amazon $3 billion. What they were going to do was give them a $3 billion tax break. What that means is that Amazon was not going to pay $3 billion to NY that other companies would have to pay.

  2. And the problem with Amazon in NY was that NONE of those people who already live there were going to get any of those $150k/year jobs. Why would you want some company moving into your city to create jobs for other people who don't even live in your city? I suppose you'd want that if your desire was to leave the city and go live someplace else.
