  6.  @a5cent , No EU member has been attacked or invaded, so the defensive component of EU membership hasn’t been triggered. If Ukraine becomes an EU member, that’s nearly equivalent to being a NATO member. However, I don’t know what happens if an EU member that’s not a NATO member is attacked, so all of the EU comes to that member’s defense. Then this results in an EU member being attacked. Would this then trigger article 5?
