@goenzoy712 , All the gold mines in California have shut down because the cost to extract and refine the gold is higher than the value of the gold that they’d extract. The profits of Russia producing 1000 tons of gold is significantly less than the value of 1000 tons of gold because that doesn’t account for the cost to extract and refine that gold. So, what’s Russia’s profit from the production of that gold? Do you know? If you don’t, then that number means nothing.

@wp9860 , When? When Russia runs out of money and it’s Soviet stockpiles. That’s when. That could be anywhere between 6 months and 2 years from today. Russia has already squandered 80% of its Soviet stockpiles and around 60% of its sovereign wealth fund.
20
@mmdoof , You’re right. All the smart Russians left Russia already.
15
@disposabull , If all of Russia’s Soviet factories have rotted away, how are they refurbishing all those old Soviet tanks?
12
@jamiemacdonald208 , You don’t think Putin can cancel contracts or simply ignore them as he does everything he’s ever agreed to?
10
@neithere , North Korea and Venezuela have a lot of natural resources.
9
@goenzoy712 , Well, how would you know that of you have absolutely no clue how much it costs to mine 1000 tons of gold? You’re making an assumption without any clue what you’re talking about.
9
What would happen if Putin drafted 10 million recruits and instead of sending them to fight his war forced them to work in the military factories for cheap. Then he wouldn’t have to pay them so much to manufacture Russia’s military equipment.
8
A war economy works great until the money runs out. Then what happens?
8
@goenzoy712 , Yes. Labor is cheaper in Russia. That’s likely why it’s still profitable to mine gold in Russia while it isn’t in California. My question is, how profitable?
7
@u2beuser714 , No. I’m asking questions. You’re making assumptions. You do understand what questions are, right?
6
@TheSteinbitt , Why would Putin care whether they have a job or not?
5
You mean the unreasonable expectations, right?
4
@johnm7267 , Seems like you should move to Russia. You would probably love it there. When are you going?
4
@goenzoy712 , So I went and looked up Russian gold. It turns out that they produce around 300 tons per year, not 1000, and Russia’s largest gold producer make around $2 billion profit per quarter, or $8 billion per year.
2
@TheSteinbitt , Forcing everyone to work for cheap rather than asking them to work and offering more money would prevent the inflation that’s caused by increasing salaries.
2
@helgeschneider9069 , When I was a kid my uncle gave me a 35 mm camera that was made in Russia.
2
@KennethOram-ei9ff , What western pressure are you referring to?
2
So you believe that Russia’s economy is doing great and that Russia’s Soviet stockpiles will last forever? There question isn’t if, but when. Anyone who believes otherwise is obviously delusional.
2
You probably don’t understand that over 20% of Russia’s GDP is coming from Russia’s sovereign wealth fund. 2/3rds of the sovereign wealth fund has already been spent. Do you have any idea what will happen when the money runs out? I bet you don’t. It seems like you lack the capacity to understand these things.
2
Do you actually believe that the Russian economy is doing well? Are you really that delusional?
2
Who said that China will collapse in 31 days? What’s your source for this?
1
What do you believe would happen if Russia had a forced conscription of 10 million and instead of making them soldiers, they made them low paid factory workers?
1
So they need to spend all the money within 30 days?
1
@vailcondo1531 , I agree. The problem is that they don’t know that they’re going to get screwed. Once they get screwed, it’s too late. They probably get in trouble for warning others.
1
@afcgeo882 , Wrong. When Korea split, North Korean had all the natural resources and factories while South Korea had all the farms. This is because North Korea has a lot of natural resources. The problem is that natural resources are useless if nobody wants to buy them. There are plenty of natural resources all over the world.
1
@afcgeo882 , Russia’s GDP means absolutely nothing. It’s fake. Most of it is due to Putin squandering Russia’s sovereign wealth fund on this pointless war of his. Once the money runs out, the GDP will plummet.

@jtf2dan , Let’s hope so.
1
@nickduxfield4324 , If they don’t, those workers might choose to go work at a weapons factory instead of a gold mine.

1
@TheSteinbitt , Why would Putin care about that? He can recruit them anyway and force them to be factory workers just like he can recruit them and use them as cannon fodder. Did you forget that he’s a dictator?
1
@theorenhobart , Anyone who complains or tries to organize protests would obviously be sent to the front lines. Russians are experts at forcing people to do things they don’t way to do.
1
@BjorckBengt , Russia doesn’t build advanced military equipment. Russia doesn’t build advanced anything. Advanced Russian technology is a myth that’s been debunked by Ukraine.
1
@jgw9990 , Yes. Russia would become a slave state. It practically already is. My question is what would happen if Putin did this.
1
@jgw9990 , Exactly. What would happen if Putin did that?
1
@Princip666 , Ok. Then educate me. Where’s the money coming from that’s paying for Russia’s GDP?
1
What if Putin were to mobilize 10 million and forced them to be factory workers?
