  19.  @didyabringabeer-2 , For example, if Poland sent Polish soldiers to Ukraine, Poland would be sending “NATO troops” to Ukraine. It wouldn’t be NATO that is sending them, but it would be Poland who is sending them. And because they’re Polish troops, Poland is free to do so. The only question is what would happen if Poland sent troops to Ukraine, then Russia attacked Poland. Would Poland than be able to enact article 5 so other NATO members would then be required to defend Poland. I would say “yes” because defending Ukraine is not attacking Russia. If Russia doesn’t like what’s happening in Ukraine, they can always leave Ukraine and start paying reparations.

That’s why he’s so upset about former Soviet Republics joining NATO. He knows that once they join, he’ll never be able to invade them.

  37.  @didyabringabeer-2 , You’re confused. You don’t understand. NATO obligates members to defend each other if they’re attacked. NATO members are independent countries that are free to do whatever they want. NATO can’t and wouldn’t send soldiers to Ukraine, but the individual members are free to do so and the other members can’t stop them. NATO members don’t need permission from other NATO members to send troops to Ukraine. Also, sending troops to Ukraine would be defense. Russia invaded Ukraine. Ukraine is defending. Even though this has absolutely nothing to do with NATO, there’s no reason why a NATO member should want to help Ukraine defend their country from an invasion.

Russia's air defenses can't even stop Ukraine's toy RC airplanes and other "drones". It's quite obvious that Russia's air defenses are a joke.
