If, as Elon hopes, only 1/3 of the current long shares need to be bought to take Tesla private at $420, it'll only cost $13.7 billion to buy all the shares. So, it won't be as difficult as everyone believe to obtain the funding required to close a deal like this. I wonder why all these so called, "analysts" don't realize this. It's not like it's very complicated.

Is English this lady's second language? Does she not understand the word, "considering"? Elon has most definitely NOT made his intentions clear and if he decides it's a bad idea there would in no way be, "egg on his face".

Here's the series of events. 6:30 am - The stock opened at $343.61 12:10 pm - The stock is $342.50 12:15 pm - The stock first starts to go up. 12:45 pm - The stock is at $355.11 12:47 pm - Elon Musk sends his tweet. 12:50 pm - The stock is now $371.15 12:55 pm - The stock has falling back to $357.10 2:10 pm - Trading stops at $367.25 So, the stock started going up 35 minutes before Musk's tweet and went up $10. The price 5 minutes after Musk's tweet was only $2 higher than 5 minutes before. Then, after his tweet, the stock went up a few more dollars. So what do you all believe caused the stock to go up?

Ho Lee Fook, You must have been smart and shorted the stock at around $370, then bought them back around $290. The problem is all the idiots who shorted the stock at $300, then bought at $370. They're the one's who's money you took. So instead of being mad at Musk, they should be mad at you for taking their money. Musk didn't profit at all from the last two weeks.

Vijay Ninel, Well, his intent was to let everyone know that he was "considering" taking Tesla private. Most likely because all the Tesla FUD that is being spread by the short sellers is bothering him. It shouldn't. He seems to be a bit overly sensitive.

What time Musk's tweet went out, and how much the stock was up 5 minutes before and after his tweet, and how much the stock went up the rest of the day after his tweet? If people actually believed that there was a high probability that Tesla would go private when Musk tweets, "I'm considering..." then why wasn't the stock much closer to $420 right after his tweet up until he actually made up his mind not to go through with it?

roberto ribas, Fixed my typo. Thanks for pointing it out. And unless you're psychic or he has told you, you have no idea what Musk's motivation was. I suspect his motivation was to let everyone know that he was considering taking Tesla private. But that's just a guess.

roberto ribas, Do you have any actual evidence that Musk sent that tweet in order to burn the shorts? By real evidence, I mean something other than circumstantial evidence? If he really wanted to burn the shorts, he would have negotiated the deal and figured out all the details in secret, then suddenly releases everything at once. That would have been a much better way to screw over the shorts. By saying, "I'm considering..." he's giving everyone a heads up way in advance. Since "considering" means that he's just thinking about it, nobody really took it that seriously and the stock, therefor, barely went up. I have nothing against the short sellers. I believe they serve a purpose. But I am annoyed by all these news reports that misrepresent the truth. For example this lady in the video saying that he made his intentions clear when he made it clear that his intentions were not yet decided. She either doesn't understand what, "considering" means, or she's misrepresenting the situation on purpose. Since I doubt that she doesn't understand what "considering" means, my best guess is that she's just a liar. And I believe that when people who are supposed to be reporting the news are lying on purpose, they should be prosecuted. And in this case, she should be prosecuted for attempting to manipulate the stock price.

roberto ribas, So you're saying that you would prefer that Musk keep everything secret until it's finalized? You would have preferred that? Well, I guess since he decided not to take Tesla private, that would mean that nothing would have happened. But say him and the large investors and the board had been meeting in secret and decided to do go through with it? I suppose that would have been much better. Then Musk and the large investors could secretly buy up as much stock as they could while the stock price was low. Maybe they could have planned it while they had some bad news to announce or something. Maybe that would be much more legal, huh? Isn't that how all the other companies do it? The best way to eliminate insider trading is to require the insiders to divulge all the information that they have all the time so that there's no such thing as insider information. Or do you disagree? This is exactly what Musk keeps doing, and everyone keeps bashing him for it. So, I guess maybe he should learn to keep secrets from his investors. This has nothing to do with whether I like Musk or not. It has to do with common sense. It appears that this is something that you're lacking.

roberto ribas, Are you saying that Tesla should file an SEC 8-K whenever Musk is "considering" something? For the 10th time he said, "I'm considering..". Don't you think it's more appropriate to say that he should file an SEC 8-K after he's done "considering" and has actually decided to take Tesla private. Well, that never happened, and that's why there was never an SEC 8-K filed. And, you still have no proof that funding wasn't secured. Do you have some contact that works for the Saudis wealth fund? Or are you personal friends with everyone who he could possibly have secured funding from? How do you have any idea that funding wasn't secured? The SEC has a subpoena to obtain evidence of whether funding was secured or not. They'll find out. You, on the other hand, have no idea. And you won't have any idea until the SEC releases their findings.
