  81. Why wouldn’t they run at the first sign of encirclement? Wouldn’t it be a bad idea for them to be killed or captured rather than escape and continue to fight another day? I believe you might be confused about how war works. The idea is to survive while you kill as many enemy troops as possible, not to get surrounded and killed yourself. Forcing your troops to die on the front line is an incredibly bad strategy, and extremely bad for moral, and is a strategy used by the Russians.
