Two years ago l developed rapidly developing cataracts on my eyes at age 64, l was having to change my prescription lenses every 4 weeks, the optician diagnosed it said they have to be dealt with quickly 5 weeks later l was seen as an nhs patient in a private clinic , they removed the cataract on one eye first and a super bonus implanted a contact lense inside my eye, so l could now see long distance something ld not done without glasses since l was 18 they did the other eye 6 weeks after that takes about 8 minutes , then last year l was dignosed with a rapidly crumbling hip and in 4 weeks of diagnosis l had the operation in may 2023,im now walking like a young lad again ( well nearly lol ) so my experiences with the nhs in times of crises has been wonderful, i am currently due a bunion op in march.
Im White English, and 66, my ancestors came over with william the conquerer, so over a thousand years, tho l was an immigrant then or would have been lol, we still have the arrow my great great grea great etc fired in someones eye, lol, and before being a norman we were from Viking stock that went to live in France. Red hair runs in my family bit like yours Andrew, so you're likely a viking too, so lets have a bit more stoicism 😂
