Farmers used to get paid by the EU not to farm certain crops like rape seed, turnips, etc, to let their fields lie fallow, but they aint paying em now, so its either grow more crops or sell it for housebuilding, or windfarm or solar panelling, didnt you take notice last year that green sites are going to be allowed to be built on.
