  1. ​ @Kenneth165-f5u  l live near where you're from in Redcar and Cleveland district, l was in the army in the 70s and lads were in with me from leeds manchester, brum and wolverhampton as well as carlisle, they were formally asian and jamaican and african some of em their parents had come here in the 50s they classed themselves as English and British., which is right if they were born here tho if tgey had just moved her to live been born in their respective countrys then as you said they could call themselves Jamacain Indian etc, but these lads had their towns accents and were as proud of being British as l was, their grandkids are here now and they would say they were definitely British, abd fair play to em.

I was in the army with Jamacain lads and lads from asian backgrounds who were as English as l am, mind you my family invaded England in 1066 my family name is Norman one most of whom were by then half Viking, soooo... Were a nation of mongrels, but the lads l knew were assimilated they spoke and acted like any other British lad only diff was there colour, some put on a bit of patios when the girls were around to try and sound a bit more exotic but it was quite funny when they're real brum and manchester and leeds accents broke in, that was in the 70s theyve got grandkids here now theyre British and proud of it as much or more than we are. So leave the stomach tightening out of it eh

  4. ​ @stubones yes in theory we dont but our elections are every bit as presidential as the murican ones, Fact, wasnt tory policys got the milk snatcher in time and agin it was her ugly beaky faced strict nanny that got the saddoes voting for her along with a load of women who knew no better, and same with blair, and when kinnock had good ideas policies they were completely drowned by the tory press picking on his falling over and calling him windbag nothing to do with his policies it was his charcter assassination by the tory press ergo his prescence that lost labour the win tho they were expected to get it they started with Foot, then Kinnock then Milliband, dont vote for Milliband cos he can't eat a bacon sandwich properly, not policies, personality, so yes it is presidential.
