  6.  @bg1616  Yep 1%% off the average wage isn't much, but off a wage from 40 to 149 grand it's a fair old chunk of change, then over that no more 45 % tax the rich to grow richer and the poorest to pay for it in the future, the tories have already borrowed the most since WW2 and are looking to borrow even more the magic money tree they said didn't exist when Labour were going to spend more on social infrastructure and hospitals. At least we would have had something to show for it.

  7.  @ThePereubu1710  I understand what you're thinking I'm the same a lifelong Labour voter, but Blair sickened me ( I'm half convinced Smith was knocked off so he could take over once the torys saw the writing on the wall in the lite 90s and Blair was a tory sleeper ) l had a brief surge of hope with Corbyin but then l one he would be dislodged by the tory meddi and the Blairites left in the party,,which is exactly what occcured, and when Starmer punished Corbyin l knew hated him and for the first time in 48 years of voting l might have to either vote for another party or not vote at all, and as l still recall the libdems treachery in 2010 l could no more vote for them than l could put my own John Thomas in a bacon slicer, so now I'm gonna vote Labour and hope in the interim that Starmer is let go Rayner would do for me.

Cliff they have always been like that, but at least you've become aware of it, better late than never, I'm 65 by the way and a lifelong Labour voter, I'll even vote for Starmer though l don't like him and they aren't a real Labour party proper. But then I'd vote for the Downing St cat to do a better job than these power seeking numpties

Anyone who thinks labour is a left leaning party now needs re educating in political nuance they're tory lite, maybe left leaning for by tory standards, but I'd venture to say Starmers more to the right than Sunny jim Sunak, which is why he will be a safe pair of hands for the next term or two after the GE. I'm a Labour supporter but only out of loyalty from days gone by when it was a true socialist party, and l mean socialist not marxist communist which is a different thing believe it or not. And true loyalty means to the end even if its a bitter one where you're saddened at seeing Blair turn Labour into the tory B team and him the best leader the tories never had, now Starmer crowing over crushing any lefty personnel and policies left in his party.

Supermarkets are taking the opportunity to do what our American cousins call gouging, taking advantage of a situation to heighten prices far in excess of what they need be, they're pleading costs on one hand but raising prices far above the supposed 10% its expected to reach, I've seen many items double and triple in price, the average price rise is more like 40% across the board so someone's lying to us, l wonder who.
