  2. If you think California is bad, try Pinellas County, Florida. They were giving homeless people bus tickets out of the state over ten years ago. Not sure if California has any so-called "twelve step" groups but they're a great place to find out how to get your act together, get a job, a place to live and help the next guy who walks in the door like I did several years ago after losing everything in the prescription pill epidemic in St Pete.
