I have an interview with the university of Notre Dame this Sunday after they texted me and invited me for a tour of their remote 7500 acre facility last week up here in my tiny town of many lakes. Submitted my freshly prepared, double and triple checked cover letter, resume and references after the tour and the big boss is traveling up here from South Bend to make it official. We didn't talk about money after I was offered the opportunity but I told them what I was currently making as a local mechanic and they laughed at how weak it sounded. I've always caught breaks while being employed instead of quitting because I don't like someone or some trivial thing. The guy who runs this property brought a couple of old beaters to the shop I work at singlehandedly and they got put right back where they were beforehand so I think he's had his eye on me for awhile. This is definitely an inside job not typically made available to the public thru the typical job posting sites. I did get recruited off the one platform that starts with in and ends with deed a couple years ago when my summer job evaporated and I needed a stable inside job for the winter but I think they were just looking for bodies since the particular dealership that hired me was super slow compared to the one I left 1600 miles south of here in Florida.
