I used synthetic oil in my 750i since it was new but it's not new anymore so synthetic oil will only blow out all the seals. Not sure where the line between new and old is but I'm not about to blow all the seals out with synthetic oil even tho it ran perfect with it until one day it was an old car...

@429thunderjet2 I changed oil types after I stopped going to the dealership. The guys down at jiffy lube said this thing will turn into a brick if I use synthetic oil after a certain point so we did an engine flush to thin out the synthetic oil before putting in conventional 20W50. They said the thicker oil is better for cold starts.

@429thunderjet2 the guy at take 5 said it's the best for cold weather applications. I just do what I'm told.

@429thunderjet2 I live in the UP of Michigan. Its about to get cold and stay cold until next May. Summer is pretty much over and most of the leaves have fallen off. Supposed to snow later this week I heard. Yikes.
