A mate of mine Birdy Bob has been re-doing the dry stone walls up on Crompton Moor in Shaw and he is in his mid 70s, used to work with him as we were engineers. We called him Birdy Bob because he loved Bird watching. He would take a month off (to the companies annoyance) to go bird watching in exotic places. His Wife told me once they went to India camping in a flimsy tent and the week before there had been a Tiger attack in the village they were staying in! Bob wasn't arsed, but his wife was bricking it with every little noise! He is still alive and still a character! If you go up onto Crompton Moor you will probably bump into him!

I reckon Ted had the heating blasting away and having parties while you were away! 😂

Be cool doing a wild camp in that little house! Great video!
12
Looks a bit rough around there 🙄What a shame, when so many people cannot get a house! Great video, all those coal mining families just thrown on the scrap heap! I have been up on Kinder Scout today looking at the dry stone walls and filmed Celtic cross from medieval times. Keep up the good work mate.

The lightning rod was added because the bats were being electrified and turning into mutants. Around 1872 the town of Hebden Bridge was terrorised by a 300lb bat! Eventually, a mill owner named Sir Richard Head did battle with the creature and managed to drown the beast in the river Calder!

The Chimney that was smoking at the end is Ellend Rd Mill it is the last working steam mill working and the first Sunday in every month they have it open for the public to go in.

I have just come back from Coniston and was talking to a tree in my video twas a strange creature! Nice work with the drone!

I was more a Stone Roses fan, however Ian Brown was crap live! Prefered Blur and Pulp. Went to Heaton Park back in the day and Liam Gallagher was quite good! Anyway Elland Road Steam Mill 6th of October if you fancy me showing you around before it shuts!
3
Went for a walk up the canal last week from Mills Hill to Rochdale that pubs been shut for well over 12 months, was looking at trying to get in but it is shut up tight! Further down you have tin town. House made of tin they are bloody awful!
3
Have you never thought about investing in Bricks and Mortar? You Tube will not last forever! You got the skill set and knowledge!
3
Just buy your own gaff, you do not have to screw people over! Turnip would not do that!
3
I love Bolton, it is a shame a lot of the shops are closing, but like you say Council make a right mess of things! As far as Chimneys go I look out of my front window and Marlborough Mill and Chimney is right in front of me. I always think if it falls over I am dead!
3
You can tell it had been raided the front door has been boomed through on the weed residence!
3
Us Northerners have a low bar! 😂

You should go and have a look at Ellen Road Mill in Shaw Oldham, not far from you. It is the last working Steam Mill in the country and opens on the 1st Sunday of every Month, Fred Dibnah has been there a few times when he was alive. I lived in Shaw for a while and there are still some of the old Mills left in the area.

Great video! What Road is that Grove on? Looks the type of place you might bump into Bigfoot! I might have to investigate this as I am usually in that area. On a walk down to Sowerby Bride from Hebden Birdge 4 miles down the canal (from Hebden) us an abandoned mill you can get into.
2
If you like Steinbeck try Tortilla Flats if you have never read it, it is a really amusing read. Another great video, showing another way we are about to get screwed over by big tech! 😪
2
@wanderingturnip Haha it is my favourite as well where they drink all the wine that they have bought for their mate so he does not get a hangover!
2
I went to Hull and did a similar video you can also do an Urbex around the dock because everything is shut and empty, think it was called Alexander dock. Was very interesting, but sad as well. As you can tell by my name Urban Angler that is how I started my channel off with fishing. This was a fantastic video might make a trip there myself
2
Also google the legend of 'Dead Bod' its a really funny story, but not for the seagull
2
Cheers for that went today and did the video, got a bit more than we bargained for in the woodman, but the celler in the Grove was amazing (apart from the Babysham drinking Demon) have a look at the video if your interested, will do electrified Mutant Bats of Stoodly Pike next!
2
Not keen on the Dordogney I am a cat person! 😂
2
Invest in a pair of Altberg boots I swear by them they are bombproof!
2
With these leases what happens when it runs out do you get your money back or do you just pay for it for that amount of time?
2
I tried getting in that Mill last year and we nearly did, but the further we got in it was really dangerous so we came back out. A bit further down there is a house with some old cars outside ones a TR6
2
Needs some improvements 😂
2
I did a video on it its fantastic snd last working
2
Last time I went in a bank I was wearing a Balaclava 😬
2
The tastes of people are beyond me! I would rather live in that little house in Jumble Hole Valley! London would be my worst nightmare!
2
I have just moved into a new gaff and did it just using my Volvo, going up and down Broadway like a Beverley Hillbilly with loads of shit tied to my car stuck in Black Friday traffic (that lasted 4 days) the traffic was horrendous! Then I noticed in their infinite wisdom the council decided to shut a load of roads and divert traffic! I reckon they are doing it on purpose, because none of the roads were having any work done. You want to look into that, because I have started noticing it more and more during bank holidays and the like 😡😡😡

If your after a watch with long battery life get a Garmin Instinct Solar, 24 day battery life. With compass and everything on it
1
You want to try Allen Brickworks in Hipponholme I found a few Halifax bricks so there may be some Accrington bricks

Go check out the one that is still working Ellend Road Steam Mill in Milnrow
1
@wanderingturnip cheers will do an investigation next week. I will also be going up to Stoodly Pike to do a video on the electrified Mutant bats! Passed the signpost for Stoodly on my last walk where I was accosted by the Scarecrows of Hebden Bridge.

You will feel worse if that Steam Mill goes bump!

1
Well done mate, careful what you wish for! 😂
1
Your right about Media trying to scare people with people and places, I watch a guy called Bald and Bancrupt who at first did little Russian villages, now he has got that big he is everywhere! And most people are friendly! Mine is just comedy and although I see Bigfoot on a walk every week I will probably only reach around 10k, but thats fine!
1
I have Fish chips and curry from the chinese, my missus always said I was ruining it until last week! Were camping in Castleton in the Peak District and we went in the Black Bull for a meal, she ordered Fish goujons and chips, but didn't realise it had the English curry Dinaclass smothered in it, her face was a picture, until that is she tried it! She liked it and has now joined the Darkside!
1
Freds best quote when asked was he not frightened of falling off a chimney he said you only fall off one once!
1
@sunshineravens It was a red breasted Owl, they are a sub species of the Barn Haddock, half fish half Owl. These are easily mixed up with a Fishcake Falcon!
1
I seen Bigfoot up there on my video! You were lucky he did not get you! 😂
1
Yeah Yates has gone I walked from Lytham St Annes to Blackpool last week and there was a few other hotels shut further south. Sad really used to go to Blackpool Hallucinations as a kid once a year

I started collecting vinyl again around two years ago! Have spent a fortune on Dylan, back in the 80s when I got into him I started buying vinyl then tapes then CDs and now vinyl again. Also was out and about on Wednesday walking around Jumble Hole valley and in the Witches cottage as I like to call it.
1
Where was this?

A lot of the rubbish we hear is the Medias narrative. If you put black and red ants into a jar they will not fight! When you shake the jar they start fighting, so it is the person who is shaking the jar is the one at fault! Sounds familiar to me! Glad to see your channel going from strength to strength, been with you since the start. There is a Werewolf in that little cottage in Jumble Hole valley. I know because I filmed it! 😂
