  2. Just the opposite the reason US is in a weakened state is because of the protectionism, de-globalization, and "me first" policies. A pandemic could have started anywhere if not in China then in Africa, Middle East, even one that came from US. By starting a trade war, decoupling, and haphazard coordination with China and rest of the world it has left US very vulnerable whenever a crisis emerges.
