This woman rocks! And I didn't even understand everything she said - still learning Ukrainian. But I get the impression that she said something I've been thinking for a while - if some Ukrainians really want to live in a misogynistic homophobic lie-spinning cleptocracy that has no regard for human rights and suppresses all diversity and dissent, they could just move to russia. It's right there, there's loads of space. They already speak the language and probably have the passport (or could get it pretty easily). It would be the easiest relocation ever. Apologies for not posting that in Ukranian, I only trust online translators with the simplest things and it will be a long time before I can write/say anything complicated in your beautiful language. I think this shifting position is just talk... the US know very well that the russian federation won't stop at Ukraine, and needs to be completely defeated without a chance to rearm and recover. More Ukrainians who must have been looking forward to a better new year, but will never get to see it - or will have to cope with injuries, or homeless, or the loss of loved ones, maybe all those together. Meanwhile, the powerful people holding up vital military aid to Ukraine are sitting on their arses celebrating the holiday season 🤬 I'm so sorry, so angry and so ashamed even though I'm not in or from the US. I live in the UK and literally the only thing our government isn't screwing up at the moment is support for Ukraine... but I still feel that we could and should be doing more. To all those who somehow got through this awful day: please never forget that you're not alone, countless millions across the world are on your side, and will never stop supporting you ❤🖤

I can see how much his visit meant to each one of those soldiers, and I can imagine their loved ones receiving a picture of their son/partner/dad/brother/friend posing with the president with a big smile on his face... As an Italian who's been living in the UK most of my life, I am really sorry to hear that, but unfortunately not surprised. Let's not forget that Italy is a fascist country, and since the pandemic many, many people there bought into conspiracy theories, which softened their brains for the onslaught of russian propaganda that started in 2022 (some of my relatives have gone that way, and now I can't speak to them). The thing that really breaks my heart is that every Ukrainian person I've met in London loves Italy and the Italian language and would love to visit one day (some already have) - meanwhile, I'm dying of shame inside. @noxy--- I have noticed that about transliteration of English words. In English the H (when it's not mute) is unvoiced, which brings it closer to the Ukrainian Х than Г, but it's a much softer sound than either of those consonants anyway, no more than a short exhalation of breath: like breathing on the lens of your glasses before wiping it ☺️ I think Ukrainian journalists manage foreign names much better than our press has been managing Ukrainian names over the years 😣 With a name like Harris, I think the important thing to remember is to avoid sliding from Г to Ґ - let's leave that to the russians 😂 💙💛💙💛

@ЗенаКушіль The thing about Italians is, most of them talk about politics CONSTANTLY. And very loudly. But their ability to look at things from different points of view is generally limited. I don't think Italy has fully recovered from WW2, and that may be because it wasn't allowed to... decades and decades of corruption, of knowing that your vote counts for nothing and the people in charge are crooks is not good for any nation.

In my opinion, the person who came up with the word "vatnykan" is a genius, and absolutely right. Please Ukrainians, never forget that there are countless millions all over the world who stand with you, and don't need to be told what's right and wrong by any religious leader, because we can see it with our own eyes. Btw, auto-translate tells me that you think you 'severely reprimanded me': does that reflect what you wrote, or are online translators as unreliable as I believe? It felt more like a hissy fit than a severe reprimand, maybe you were in a bad mood, and you probably had a good enough reason for that. In case you don't reply, I wish you the best 🙂

@lumineen1462 Orphanages have been evacuated from potential warzones. The children from at least one of them were relocated to the UK. If corruption and betrayal is all you want to see, that's all you will keep seeing.

@nataliiv9699 I know that a few politicians have adult sons who are currently safe abroad and doing nothing at all for Ukraine while their busy social lives are plastered all over their social media accounts, and I understand that's making many Ukrainians angry. But what's strange about trying to keep one's own family safe? Particularly minor children. Millions of Ukrainians have taken their children abroad, after all. While 24.02.22 was a horrible shock, it was no surprise, and I don't blame anyone who had the means to send their children out of the country for doing so. There are also Ukrainian politicians whose families remain in the country. I'm noticing more and more anger being turned inwards - and while I believe it's a sign of a healthy society to criticise those in power, please remember that any infighting in Ukraine is a gift to the rf.

No peace can come from negotiating with a psychopathic criminal and his supporters and apologists. And not everyone is alive anymore - because putin has got so many people killed, and has no intention of stopping. He'd just like a little pause to catch his breath and regroup. Having said that, Ukraine's most powerful Western allies have been pathetic in the way they've let military aid dribble in, or stop and start, and put conditions on its use... I am disgusted by that, it all should have happened sooner, faster, and the war would be over by now. So I'm not surprised that Ukrainians are exhausted, but please don't let putin mess with your heads. 💙💛

A stint as ambassador will give him a political CV - I'm not saying he wouldn't have been qualified to lead the country without it, but the head of the army becoming head of state without a significant interim period would raise questions about that country having turned into some sort of military dictatorship. I had even noticed some kremlin trolls making that point, months before he was replaced as commader of the UAF. This way, it will be more straightforward for him to run for political office in future.

Good point about Japan and South Korea. I would just say, as someone in the UK who loves and will always support Ukraine and what's best for Ukrainians: please please don't trust these people. I hope Zelenskiy is able to play them and get as much out of them as possible on behalf of Ukraine (and I believe that if anyone can do it, it's him), but please don't trust them. They are snakes.

Also, during the last year of trump's presidency COVID got in everybody's way, including putin's. And for the previous three years it's possible that putin was playing the long game, he must have felt very comfortable when his puppet was in power. I don't actually agree with how the democrats have dealt with this situation over the past 10 years - they could have done much better and still could. And there's no reason why she shouldn't do better. People who say the sort of thing you're saying may as well be trolling for putin - and maybe you are.
