As an Italian who's been living in the UK most of my life, I am really sorry to hear that, but unfortunately not surprised. Let's not forget that Italy is a fascist country, and since the pandemic many, many people there bought into conspiracy theories, which softened their brains for the onslaught of russian propaganda that started in 2022 (some of my relatives have gone that way, and now I can't speak to them). The thing that really breaks my heart is that every Ukrainian person I've met in London loves Italy and the Italian language and would love to visit one day (some already have) - meanwhile, I'm dying of shame inside. @mariyabroslavska611 I'm really sorry you're having to out up with that. It is really unclear to me how anyone is supposed to "reconcile" with someone who wants to literally obliterate them.

@ЗенаКушіль The thing about Italians is, most of them talk about politics CONSTANTLY. And very loudly. But their ability to look at things from different points of view is generally limited. I don't think Italy has fully recovered from WW2, and that may be because it wasn't allowed to... decades and decades of corruption, of knowing that your vote counts for nothing and the people in charge are crooks is not good for any nation.
