Anyone wanting to know more about that period in history from Ukraine's point of view, please research Timothy Snyder's lecture series The Making of Modern Ukraine - it's a playlist on YT, you can just select the lecture covering the period you're intereste in. Or listen to all of them in sequence if you have time, they're brilliant.
