  3.  @DavidGetling  I don't think they "let" putin take Crimea... they literally had no choice. Their last president had - one can assume deliberately - degraded the army to a point that, in the turmoil following the Maidan protests, Ukrainians were literally not in a position to fight for Crimea. Thankfully for all of us, they were then able to stop the spread of russian proxy forces in the Donbas, until the army picked itself up to match the level of grassroots organising.

  4. I think Ukraine is trying to drive a wedge between putin and his allies. Kuleba really has a strong stomach though! I don't envy him this meeting.
