This seems to be a snippet from the middle of a longer interview with an artist I'm not familiar with, and maybe that's why I found it confusing, even the question is a valid one. Whatever the conclusion on Banksy was, if indeed there was one, I would like to say that he often uses his work to create value for projects and communities he wants to support. He doesn't need the publicity - he's huge. But he knows how much his work can be worth, both the piece itself, if removed from a wall and sold at auction, and reproductions of the image. I hope these works of art mean something to the local people, whose neighbourhoods have been transformed beyond recognition by the occupiers' violence and hold so much trauma; and I also hope the autorities will know how to monetise these works for the benefit of the local communities.💙💛
