  4.  @buretehudesi  True - the Slavs basically called themselves "people of the word". They were so extensively enslaved that the same word came to form the basis of the word "slave". I kind of knew this but I recently heard Timothy Snyder talk about it in one of the early lectures of his Yale course on The Making Of Modern Ukraine (which I highly recommend). So you are both right 😊
