  1. Just before all this blew up, literally the other day, the Ukrainian Secret Services (CBU) arrested one of the anticorruption agency investigators, who'd been bought by the russians. CBU had apparently pointed out to the agency on several occasions that they had serious concerns about this individual, but nothing was done internally and he was allowed to continue operating, so the secret services built up a solid case against him and eventually arrested him. I understand why it would seem a better idea to bring this agency into special measures, but it needs to be done in a way that doesn't give corrupt and/or prorussian MPs a get out of jail free card. This is a delicated thing that would be tricky for any country not currently under attack... Ukraine is making all these momentous changes in record time and under the most difficult of circumstances.
