  3.  @tobiasbauer198  No, there's more of a difference between Ukrainian and russian. Ukranian and Polish are probably as similar as Spanish and Portuguese. Ukranian and Belarusian are like Spanish and Italian.

  9. I don't think that's just a Ukraine problem... there have been two violent homophobic incidents on my streets in the past week alone, multiple casualties hospitalised on both occasions (thankfully not critical). I live in inner London, UK

  14. There are lots of cats in the trenches... trenches and field kitchens are infested with mice, because mice have no natural predators in areas where all larger mammals have fled or died. I wasn't surprised to see it there, but the way it was sitting on top of the prisoner just had me 🤣

  15.  @edik3310  Not very. Like French and Spanish, I've been told by Ukrainians who have a reasonable knowledge of those two languages... Ukrainians can switch to russians when they need to, and some choose to speak russian on the battlefield because it's their easiest language. There is also to be said that some russian soldiers are from occupied Donbas, so have a better knowledge of Ukrainian than their comrades from various regions of the russian federation.
