@MrDen-lv5uj In English, the distinction between "Indian" and "Black" is very clear, but the translation seems to have confused a few people. In any case, no truth actually came out of trump's mouth (what a surprise), because he's implying that she used to hide her Black Jamaican heritage, or played it down in favour of her Indian heritage, or has made it up altogether - which is all complete and utter rubbish.

I don't usually copy and paste my comments all over a comment section, but that's what you're doing, so you're asking for it: She's not "suddenly claiming" anything, she is dual heritage and her never made a mystery of it. It's just trump talking rubbish as usual. And there's a very detailed comment in this thread about why he's saying this now, which I completely agree with.

@user-kf8fj2mc7u Ok, I get you. Basically, no, trump is talking his usual divisive rubbish. Even in the video he's using to substantiate this claim - an old food video with the South Asian American actress Mindy Kaling - it is clearly stated that Kamala is half South Asian. Obviously, if she's speaking to a predominantly African American audience, any personal stories she chooses to share are likely to be from that side of her upbringing, and vice versa. I've also heard her talk about how her parents met at a Civil Rights march in the early 60s. Her dual heritage is widely known, and that's what it's like to interact with others when you're dual heritage. Every clip I've seen has been embedded in other videos or broadcasts so it's hard to share references, but there's a lot out there - if you do a search just watch out for trump's propaganda. If I find anything in the few days I'll post it on this thread 😊

@Max_Ukas Neither racism nor sexism are a thing of the past. They need to be dealt with in the present, and that involves acknowledging and understanding where and how they originated. And passionately loving sex has never in itself stopped anyone from being sexist. Grow up.
