@ronniemead805 I think he bought it BECAUSE of that FBI visit... Not because he wanted his son to go out and murder people, but because daddy had to prove to himself and the world (and probably the wife he was separating from) that he was right about the way he was raising his child. Obviously this is my conjecture. A cold, sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.

@elainedaprano9130 If the son had also been with his mother, this may not have happened though... I wonder if she even knew about the FBI visit. There may be a domestic abuse situation at the bottom of all this... and when she left, he kept the son to "turn him into his version of a "real man". These are all conjectures, and very painful things to be even considering, but with my multiple experiences of domestic abuse - as a child, adult, bystander, project worker and survivors group member - it feels horribly plausible.

@NegativeWaves-y8f "scenarios" are an essential part of trying to understand how something could have happened, particularly something awful that any sane person would want to try and stop from happening again.
