@cherrilyn5148 He wanted to fight in the Foreign Legion. They didn't take him, because he had no prior combat experience and understandably the UAF don't want to use their resources training foreigners. He also had a bizarre plan to get Afghani soldiers who had left Afghanistan to fight for Ukraine, getting some of them fake passports through Pakistan...? The UAF didn't engage with that either. Other than that, no it's not strange that someone would go to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion (which was just over 2.5 years ago btw).

@southslastrebel2575 He hadn't donated since 2020. Voted for trump in 2016 so presumably he started after that?

@cherrilyn5148 Belarus, maybe, but flying to countries like Poland and Romania is pretty straightforward. People fly to Poland then get a coach or train into Ukraine - yes, it takes longer, but I have friends in London who do it regularly, to go and visit family for example. People also drive into Ukraine with vehicles loaded with aid, then travel back to the western border to fly home, or stay and volunteer.

@cherrilyn5148 People's criminal records don't show up on their passports - this man's criminal last was extensive but petty, he wouldn't have been on an Interpol list (obviously now he would be). There would have been no restrictions on his movements as a US citizen in Europe.
