Same! Your comment is like a breath of fresh air, I've had several arguments about this over the past year

@dixonpinfold2582 Gratitude has a big place in my ethics. That's why I'm immensely grateful to Ukrainians and make sure I tell them whenever I get the chance. Some good points have been made in this thread so I won't repeat them... but if you're expecting Ukrainians to grovel to the US foreverafter you'll be sorely disappointed. This is not a wayward teenager who got into a scrape, that you're saving out of the goodness of your heart... this is a whole country, taking the brunt of the aggression that your country had spent the best part of a century preparing for. How about you try being grateful?

@dixonpinfold2582 🤣 All i can say, for the last time, is to try being genuinely grateful to Ukrainians instead of sanctimoniously whining about the degrees of gratitude detectable in each of their comments. They really do not owe us. We owe them.

@Spanish_Patriot "Trump sucks", as a political opinion, is anything but narrow

@aerisskyler Trojan horse my ass. Ukraine's struggle against russia started before the US ever existed

Thank you, very well put 💙💛

@InterviewsWithTheAncients The country that has given the most to Ukraine is actually Estonia. They've been giving the largest proportion of their GDP, and for longer than any other country, I believe. Most other countries including the US sat back and waited for Ukraine to "prove its worth" before they started doing anything useful.

@Matthew_Loutner Much less than half - when did Trump ever win the popular vote?
2
@Matthew_Loutner Oh your poor brain

@j.a.3138 Are they, though? More than half of Americans haven't voted for him so far

@Matthew_Loutner If you think you have the absolute truth you are definitely fuc*ed🤣

@dixonpinfold2582 Here you are again, going on about gratitude... I'm not in the habit of copying and pasting my replies all over a comments section, but then again, that's what you're doing... So here's my reply to the same comment you posted above: Gratitude has a big place in my ethics.

@dixonpinfold2582 Writing the comments you've written here, and then calling another person "sanctimonious" is an example of doublespeak almost worthy of the kremlin... And no, I'm not expecting you to understand that, since you seem to have trouble seeing beyond the tip of your own nose.

@joedellinger9437 I don't think many Americans realise that Europe and in fact the rest of the world would be so happy if we could all stop worrying about who US citizens are going to elect every 4 years... To quote one of your national heroes, "With great power comes great responsibility". A little reflection on how you got all that wealth and power would also not be out of place.

Would that have been when Trump tried to blackmail Zelensky into inventing dirt to smear his political opponent in exchange for the military aid that Ukraine desperately needed...? Does the phrase "quid pro quo" bring anything to mind?
