  2. RfU regularly reports on and analyses Ukrainian losses and mistakes. But the format the channel is and always has been short reports on small sections of the frontline, with very few expections. He now does a weekly overview for Patreon supporters.

  4. I don't like a lot of things, ​@olivermiller2013 that 's not the problem. The problem is phrasing criticism and concern in a way that doesn't empower Z trolls.

  5. RfU started using AI early this year, around the time they started uploading every other day. Until that point - I've been following for a very long time - it was one guy narrating the videos every day, and when he got ill or burnt out the channel would take long breaks. I hate AI voices but I can see that this helps him work with a team, which makes the channel more sustainable and just as well-produced and relevant as ever. The downside is that AI deals very badly with multilingual content - hence the weird-sounding place names - and trolls like the one below get to use legitimate questions like yours to undermine the channel's credibility.

  6. I imagine it's partly a question of branding - his face became the face of the channel early on - and partly the enduring affection that millions of Ukrainians still have for Zaluzhnyy.

  9.  @Skagosi  Operational secrecy is common practice and not necessarily linked to a deteriorating situation... Soldiers have put themselves at unnecessary risk to defend small, unsustainable gains that were reported too soon (I heard this more than once last year, when Ukraine was under pressure to "look good" for Western partners so they wouldn't get bored and give up on them 🤬)

  10. AI deals with multilingual content really badly... till the end of last year I used to teach myself how to pronounce Ukrainian place names with this channel. I can see why he switched to AI though, it allows him to work with a team
